Bio
a little about Jessee Lee
a soulful songstress
Jessee Lee is a Nashville recording artist and Texas based touring act known for her sharp pen, soulful voice, and genre-blending sound. At 27, she performs over 160 shows a year, both solo and with her 5-piece band, bringing her unique Vintage-Country-Soul sound to stages across the country.
Jessee has shared the stage and opened for artists like Pure Prairie League, Darryl Worley, Radney Foster, William Beckmann, and Kix Brooks, and has performed at iconic venues including Gruene Hall, Luckenbach Dancehall, John T. Floore’s Country Store, and the AT&T Stadium. Her festival appearances span across the country from the Key West Songwriter Festival to Montana’s Forever West Fest.
Jessee grew up in Franklin, Tennessee but in 2015, when she was 17 years old, her family decided to move back to Texas, which was home for both of her parents. After a short stint in college pursuing a nursing degree in College Station, Texas, Jessee decided to throw herself into her true passion - music. At 20 years old, Jessee began cutting her teeth in the Hill Country of Texas playing dive bars, motorcycle clubs, wineries, and beer gardens. Jessee's first album, "Dive Bar Superstar", reflects her early years as a broke musician and the life lessons you learn in your early 20's.
Through the years, Jessee Lee has earned a spot in Texas, as well as Nashville, Tennessee, as one of the best up-and-coming female singer-songwriters in the scene. She had two songs from her first album chart on Texas Radio, "Where He Ain't" and "Dive Bar Superstar", she has won awards such as "Songwriter of the Year" at the TIR awards, and she came in first place at the Gruene Studios Songwriter Competition in Gruene, TX.
Being the daughter of Grammy-nominated and Texas Hall of Fame songwriter, David Lee, Jessee grew up immersed in the Nashville songwriting scene. Her father taught her the craft of storytelling and finding her sound from a young age, laying the foundation for the emotionally resonant, lyrically rich music she creates today. After years of living and touring in Texas, Jessee decided to move back to Nashville in October of 2025 to pave her own path in Music City. She now splits her time between writing music in Nashville, Tennessee and playing all across the country with her band, often coming back to the Lone Star state where her biggest fan base is.
In addition to her solo career, Jessee has been a dedicated part of Operation Song since 2022, writing with veterans battling PTSD and addiction at Warrior’s Heart Rehab. These sessions have deepened her commitment to the healing power of songwriting and expanded her work beyond the stage.
Jessee’s upcoming project, Wickedest Witch of West Texas, is slated for release in the summer of 2026. This new collection of songs highlights her signature lyrical charm and unique melodies. Blending Southern Rock, Soul, Country and her deep storytelling roots into a bold, authentic sound, this project truly showcases the essence of "Jessee Lee". Inspired by her time on the road and the haunting beauty of the Texas landscape, the album reflects both grit and glamour. The first single from her new album is called, “Heartless,” which was released in August of 2026. Her second single, "Smoke When I'm Missing You" is slated for release in March of 2026.
